The annual New Orleans Book Festival is held at Tulane University and will now also be combined with the New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. The event will bring together the local confab for tech startups with the bestselling authors and global thought leaders who now populate the literary showcase. They are not merging but will be back to back.
“New Orleans is one of the most creative cities in the world,” said Walter Isaacson, co-chair of the Book Festival, in a prepared statement. “The New Orleans Book Festival and New Orleans Entrepreneur Week highlight the city as a hub for culture, literacy and innovation.”
The dates line up during the same week in March and will have a crossover day where they will share programming. The purpose is to make the conferences bigger and better for the city as a conference destination. The NOEW will have their competition on the day which will start the Book Fest.
“This partnership is designed to further advance the already robust intellectual and entrepreneurial ecosystem that exists in New Orleans,” said Jon Atkinson, CEO of The Idea Village, the business accelerator that produces NOEW.
