This holiday season Galatorie’s auction made $98,000 on its holiday luncheon. The proceeds went to local organizations and has been around for 17 years. This year the proceeds went to the New Orleans Jazz Museum, Shepherding Hope Foundation and the Galatorie Foundation. The luncheon which is on the Friday before Christmas is a very popular local event.
“We are delighted to continue supporting great non-profits in our community through our annual table auctions. The generosity of our loyal Galatorie’s patrons has allowed us to give back to deserving organizations across our city for 17 years now, and we are grateful for the overwhelming support for this tradition,”comments Melvin Rodrigue, foundation president.
Galatorie also will put on a luncheon the Friday before Mardi Gras and will auction those tables off January 30th. The tickets for the event will start at $25 per person. In the past both the Friday before Christmas and the Friday before Mardi Gras have given proceeds to local organizations in a total of $3 million over a 17 year span.
