Spend the Holidays Warming Up With a New Fireplace Insert

The winter holidays are exciting and welcomes the winter. A home’s fireplace is used a lot during this season. If it is drafty this can cause an uncomfortable cold situation. An open fireplace can not only let out smoke and emissions into your home but also let in the nasty cold outdoor elements.

A fireplace insert is the perfect solution.  A fireplace insert is a sealed box that is placed (inserted) into an existing open fireplace. This means that more heat will be created and the drafts eliminated. A fireplace insert will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

There are different types of fireplace inserts. A wood fireplace insert is perfect for someone who already has an existing wood fireplace. This is perfect if you love a real wood-burning fireplace. You can choose from both catalytic and non-catalytic models. They come in several different styles which are traditional, cast-iron, and modern.

Gas inserts are also available. They can be added to an existing masonry fireplace using the existing chimney and venting. The inserts use either natural gas or propane. You can light your warming fireplace with a touch of a button. There are both contemporary and traditional styles to choose from.

If gas or wood are not your favorites, try an electric insert. An electric insert gives warmth and ambiance to any space. The greenest of the choices because they give off zero emissions and burn no fuel. Not only are they safer to the environment but they are also cool to the touch. This insert is perfect for homeowners with young children or pets.

The last type of insert is a pellet insert which is quiet, efficient and cost-effective. A pellet insert has wood pellets are small pieces of compressed wood and sawdust that are loaded into a hopper, automatically fed into the firebox, and burned to produce heat for long periods of time.

Upgrading your fireplace to a fireplace insert will not only help with your utility bills but also improve the look of your room. This will also add value to your home.
