This holiday season the locals know that Galatoire’s Restaurant is in high demand. This year to raise money for Galatoire’s Annual Fundraiser the popular spot will be auctioning off seats to the restaurant for Christmas and Mardi Gras.
Tickets to the event will be $50 for two and will include a paddle for the auction. The auction will begin at 5:30pm and will include drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
The proceeds will go to local nonprofits including the Louisiana Museum Foundation on behalf of the New Orleans Jazz Museum, Shepherding Hope Foundation and the Galatoire Foundation. This is the 16th year for the popular New Orleans fundraiser. Patrons will be bidding on reserved tables that are located on the desired first floor of the restaurant which is located in the French Quarter.
In years past, the auction has given proceeds to several of New Orleans-area charitable organizations. These include Covenant House, Patio Planters of the Vieux Carre, Dress for Success, Audubon Nature Institute, Liberty’s Kitchen, The Idea Village, The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation, The Roots of Music, Kingsley House and more.
“Last year, we raised a record-breaking $404,700 during our Christmas and Mardi Gras auctions,” noted Melvin Rodrigue, president of the foundation. “We are very fortunate that, for 16 years now, we have been able to help organizations in our community advance their missions and make our city a better place because of the support and generosity of our loyal patrons.”
