The popular national sliders chain, Savvy Sliders, has opened its doors in Covington, marking its 50th location. The new restaurant, located at 69305 Louisiana 21 near the bustling Louisiana 21-Interstate 12 interchange, shares space with Fat Boy’s Pizza, a beloved local chain known for its oversized pizza slices. This partnership brings an exciting dining option to the area, combining two distinctive menus in one convenient spot.
Savvy Sliders, a Michigan-based chain founded in 2018, offers a wide array of beef, chicken, and fish sliders, alongside chicken fingers and hand-spun custard shakes. The Covington location joins an already established restaurant in Metairie, which also operates in conjunction with Fat Boy’s Pizza. “The partnership has been a great success for us,” said Mark Wolok, Savvy Sliders’ vice president of business development, as he highlighted the benefits of collaborating with the local pizza favorite.
Expansion Plans and Regional Growth
This Covington location is part of an ambitious expansion plan for Savvy Sliders, which now operates in nine states and is set to enter the Canadian market. With 50 additional locations in development, the company is making a significant push into the Gulf South region, with upcoming openings in Mandeville, Harvey, and Kenner. A shared space concept with Fat Boy’s Pizza is also planned for Dearborn, Michigan, further solidifying the collaboration between the two brands.
Located across Louisiana 21 from the River Chase shopping area and near the Nord du Lac shopping complex, the Covington restaurant sits in a high-traffic location ideal for attracting locals and visitors alike. With its unique combination of Savvy’s extensive slider menu and Fat Boy’s giant pizza slices, this new establishment is poised to become a favorite dining destination in the area.
