Pascal’s Manale Restaurant Will Get New Owners

One of New Orleans’ oldest restaurants will be under new ownership soon. Dickie Brennan & Co. has struck up a deal with the estate of Ray Brandt, to purchase Pascal’s Manale Restaurant. This will be the second time the iconic restaurant has sold in a little over three years. The deal is expected to close soon and will make the company the third owner. There has been a family battle over the Ray Brandt’s estate but it has hopefully been resolved.

” A deal’s been made. Everyone’s agreed. I think it’s great the Dickie Brennan restaurant group is going to be owning and operating Pascal’s Manale. They agreed to pay a fair price, and we believe that they will restore Pascal’s Manale to its great, venerable traditions,”says the Brandt’s attorney Randy Smith.

The company who will purchase the restaurant, Dickie Brennan & Co. is run by Dickie Brennan, his sister Lauren Brennan Brower and Steve Pettus. The company currently runs six local restaurants including Palace Cafe, Tableau, Bourbon House and Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse. The company started in 1991 when it opened Palace Cafe on Canal Street.

“Pascal’s Manale is an important New Orleans institution. It’s important to the city; (Jessica Brandt) is focused on running the dealerships,” says attorney David Sherman. Ray Brandt was known as an auto dealership magnate in New Orleans.

The restaurant has been a New Orleans’ landmark for 110 years serving Creole-Italian cooking. In fact it is where barbecue shrimp became a thing and it is known for its classic oyster bar. The low-key Uptown landmark has many traditions and many New Orleans families have gone to the restaurant for generations.

“As a family that has deep roots in New Orleans, we understand the importance of preserving our city’s culinary heritage. Passing Pascal’s Manale to the Brennan family is a proud moment for us, as we know that they share our commitment to culinary excellence and tradition. We look forward to seeing how they will continue to build upon the legacy of this treasured institution,” says Jessican Brandt.
